Today I wrote this poem for you
With words I cannot say
About how much that my feelings grow
More and more each day
You bring me high
When I’m feeling low
And with one touch my whole world glows
And things seem better
Cuz you are near
I’ve made sense of a lot in life
Since you’ve been here
Today I wrote this poem for you
But my fears make me wonder
Why do I want to stop those feelings,
That makes the heart grow fonder
Not really been long that you’ve been here
So can’t get too close in case you disappear
Been hearing this voice to just let things flow
But I’m trying so hard to hold my guard
Afraid to let go
Today I wrote this poem for you
While thinking of just how beautiful you are
The depth in your voice and the warmth of your skin
Never wanting to be too far
Those eyes so bold and smile so sweet
And hearing that voice to make my day complete
Though you never seem to notice
Like every thing I say, to you is no bother
To get your full attention and show how I truly feel
I fight 10 times harder
Today I wrote this poem for you
Because you were the one thing on my mind
Doing absolutely nothing, then there you appear
And now I sit writing about you here
And today I thought these words of you
Were just a bit too immature to be true
But I know what I feel
And I feel that it’s right
So as I write I know that it’s real
Today I wrote this poem for you
Even though for weeks I could not write
Knowing that thoughts were burning within
Feeling that there was no way to free them
Dying because I lacked the motivation
Angrier everyday out of writer’s frustration
But today I wrote this poem for you
Because today you were my inspiration
